We may not be able to help with every resolution you come up with, but if one of the following ten changes are on your list for 2017, consider letting First Pres Argenta help you with them.
- Be open to new things
We are always doing/trying something new at First Pres Argenta. Sometimes we have great successes, sometimes we fail fantastically, but we’re always reaching for new ways to love and serve and welcome.
- Start going to church again
We’re open on Sunday (and on some Saturday nights!). Worship starts at 10. Childcare is available
- Be more accepting of people who are not like you
Trust us. Whoever you are, there are people who are not like you at First Pres Argenta. We’re a great place to practice acceptance.
- Help more in my local community
At First Pres Argenta, we’ll provide you with all sorts of ways to make your community a better place.
- Be More Spiritual/Religious
Through our Sunday morning worship, Wednesday night Bible study, our online presence and a growing number of small groups, we can provide you with tools you need to help you grow in your faith.
- Live Life to the Fullest
Our new sermon series that begins January 15 is called “Meant for So Much More,” and will focus on how we can get the most out of the precious life we have been given.
- Spend More time with Family
Almost a third of our members are children age 16 and under, so we are a very family-friendly, child-focused church. It’s a great place for the whole family to spend time together.
- Let Go of Old Grudges and Resentments
Forgiveness is big at First Pres Argenta. We subscribe to the idea that holding a grudge against someone else is like eating rat poison and waiting on the rat to die.
- Spend Smarter
We talk a lot about being good stewards of all the resources that we have. We can help you consider how you spend not only your money, but your time and your talents and move you to a place where you spend what you have on the things (and the people) who are most important to you.
- Be less anxious
We can’t promise to eliminate sources of stress and anxiety in your life, but we will serve as a constant reminder that you are loved by a God who sent us a Savior who is known as the Prince of Peace…and we will pass you that peace every Sunday morning.
Disclaimer: for those whose resolution is to lose weight, be warned that we have some really good cooks and you might want to avoid our First Sunday Potlucks each month.
