In this season of hope and peace and joy and love, we find ourselves in a country gripped with with despair, anger, sadness and fear. As we prepare to to welcome the Light of Christ, we raise our fists and our voices to curse the darkness that exists in our world. We are reminded how desperately our world needs the Love and Light that comes with the Word made Flesh, and how we who are of the Light are called to share that Light with the world. In the aftermath of the tragedy of Newtown, let us lament the enormous loss, but let us also be light bearers in dark world. For it has always been in the darkest places that the light of Christ shines brightest.
